The 1/32nd scale Spitfire features very high levels of intricate detail including removable engine covers with fully detailed engine, sliding cockpit canopy and hinged door with pilot figure, removable gun covers with fitted machine guns, moving flaps, rudder, air brakes, ailerons and elevators. A fully retractable undercarriage is fitted along with a rotating propeller. Cradle display stand supplied. Pilot Officer Alan Deere used this aircraft to shoot down a Bf109E on the 24th May 1940 and a Bf110 on the 25th May during actions in support of the Dunkirk evacuation where he was credited with seven victories, plus 1 shared, 1 unconfirmed and 1 damaged in just five days. The aircraft was shot down on 9 July 1940 over the channel and Pilot Officer A.Evershed was killed. more.. | |
