Operated as the personal aircraft of the President of the United States by the 98th Air Transport Squadron, 89th Military Airlift Wing, USAF, from Andrews Air Force Base near Washington DC1. The aircraft is currently stored at the National Air & Space Museum, Washington.

Bristol Britannia 102 " G-ANBF". Registered as G-ANBF on January 18th 1956 this aircraft was ordered and delivered to BOAC at London Airport on March 14th 1956. The maiden flight had taken place from Filton on 23rd February 1956. With a livery similar to BOAC but with a very pale blue cheatline and new logo of the "Britannia" and two stripes on the fin,the Britannia was later repainted in a completely new corporate livery. G-ANBF operated her last flight on October 26th 1969 and was broken up and scrapped during May 1970.

Her maiden flight was from Filton on April 29th 1958. Purchased by British Eagle International Airlines barely six years later, G-AOVM was named "Team Spirit" and converted to freighter configuration during 1967. Purchased by the Ministry of Defence in November 1971, G-AOVM was registered as XX-367 to the Aircraft and Armament Experimental Establishment (A&AEE) at Boscombe Down,Wilts . The final owner was to be BCF Aviation ,Kinshasa Airport in Zaire. | |

 more | Corgi 1/144 Boeing 707 Dan Air London (AA32912) Following their success with the De Havilland Comet, Dan-Air wanted to expand its services overseas and in 1970 received a permit to fly charters to the USA for an initial period of five years. G-AYSL (construction number 17599) was one of the first two Boeing 707s that Dan-Air bought from Pan American for this purpose and was handed over on 7th January 1970. The aircraft was mainly used on Trans-Atlantic charter flights from Gatwick, but was also used on some of their other densley trafficked inclusive tour routes, particularly around the Mediterranean. G-AYSL was originally built for Pan American World Airways as N721PA and delivered in October 1959.

This was the sixth production Comet 4 and served with BOAC until 1967, when it was bought by the Ministry of Defence for research flying, becoming XV814. The aircraft entered service with the Avionics Department of the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough in 1976, it was repainted in this smart red, white and blue colour scheme known as "raspberry ripple" and was the penultimate airworthy Comet when retired in January 1993. It was then used at Boscombe Down for spare parts to keep XS235, the last Comet flying, but was finally scrapped at Chipping Campden. | |

When Capital Airlines ordered British Viscounts in June 1954, this was a great boost for the aircraft industry, as the order totalled 60 V.744 aircraft. They entered service in July 1955 and were a great success. United Airlines took over the airline and inherited 41 of its Viscounts , United were very impressed with the Viscount and ordered a further six. They gave sterling service throughout North America until the last service was flown on 14th January 1969. | |

In Nov.1971 it was sold to Cambrian Airways which was merged into British Airways on 31st July 1973. Withdrawn from service at Cardiff in April 1982 and stored for two years, it was bought by southern - based British Air Ferries in January 1984. As an acknowledgement to aviation artist and propliner enthusiast Stephen Piercey, the aircraft was named "Viscount Stephen Piercey" and is on display at the Brooklands Museum. | |
