Franklin Mint/CDC 1/48 B-25D Mitchell USAF/RAF (98181) An interesting version of the Mitchell bomber in a salmon and green desert camouflage scheme in service with the US Army Air Force 340th Bomb group (488 Bomber Sqn.) The Lockheed P-40 L Warhawk "Stud” USAAF 325 FG - 12 AF, Pilot Col. Robert L. Baseler, credited with 6 victories - WWII Ace. The Curtiss P40 Warhawk was the primary USAAF fighter at the beginning of World War II. It was extensively exported to the Soviet Union and British Commonwealth Nations as well. The P40's most famous hour was its use by the AVG "Flying Tigers" shortly after Pearl Harbour. The victories of the AVG were one of few bright spots in those dark days when Allied forces were suffering defeat after defeat.
