The Bristol RE series of buses were the last single deck vehicles to carry their manufactures famous name. The model first introduced in the 1960's was purchased in large numbers by the Tillings group, and became the standardised single deck type in many fleets. The most popular choice of bodywork was built by ECW (Eastern Coach Works) of Loftstoft. The early vehicles had a flat windscreen, which was later modified to incorporate a more stylish curved version; the vehicles were also available with either single or twin headlamps. The Bristol RE was replaced by the Leyland National in the early 1970's, however examples continued to operate with some of the larger operators into the early 1990's.Many of these hardy vehicles were also popular second hand choices with a number of independent operators who continued to use these vehicles well into the late 90's.

The Guy Utility bus has a special association with Swindon .Guy Utility vehicle. Registered CWV 375, fleet n umber 48 remained in service until 1962 and, featured in its latter life, it is on route to Stratton X Road with adverts for Arkells Beer and Vernons Pools.

Two of London's Guy GS buses were acquired by West Bromwich and painted into probably the best livery of any used on the GS. Registered MXX 340, fleet number 252 is on route to West Bromwich. 

Stagecoach in Warwickshire 13650 (H627 LNA) in the Green Bus livery that formerly operated with Citybus in Hong Kong as its 160 (ET 1190). Although most of the former Citybus 11m coaches have served on the Megabus network, the arrival of new Neoplan coaches rendered some Olympians surplus to the requirements of the Megabus fleet, and toilets were not needed on these. 13650 initially served in Manchester on MagicBus routes before being transferred to Stagecoach in Warwickshire. 13650 is one of four that entered service on the Green Bus routes. The Green Transport Company runs bus services to schools in the UK using its Dutch-designed “The Green Bus” brand. Four ex-Hong Kong megadeckers are operated by Stagecoach in Warwickshire on behalf of The Green Transport Company, and are based at Leamington depot. Each carrying 94 passengers, the coach-seated, air-conditioned megadeckers have become popular with pupils. They operate throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands on services to and from King Edward VI Five Ways School, and are available for private hire.

Arriva Midlands fleet is to be supplemented during the Summer and Autumn of 2006 by 54 new low floor buses to provide a superior journey experience. Enhanced comfort, eye pleasing decor and quieter journey are all part of the package. As well as advanced eviromentally friendly fuel systems, the new buses will be fitted with security cameras and computerised journey trackers. Fourteen of the new buses will be Volvo B7TL double deckers with Wright's bodywork as depicted in this outstanding model.

The BMMO, better known as Midland Red, was unique in that between 1923 and 1970 , it designed and constructed most of its own vehicles.One such was the C5 coach which was first introduced in 1958.This 37 seat coach was based on the Midland Red's S15 dual purpose bus, but the striking front and rear ends disguised this fact.Between December 1965 and July 1969 , 45 of the C5 class were modified at the company's Carlyle Rd.works, to render them suitable for bus work.The most obvious external difference, besides the all over red livery, was the inward opening passenger door which necessitated the shortening of the attractive wrap around bumper.

The D9 was first unveiled in 1958. Someway into its production run the traditional mudguards were replaced by a flush panel, buses so fitted were unofficially known as Mklls . 5413 became one of a handful of D9's to carry all-over advertisments in this case for dog racing at the local Hall Green Stadium.

Built by AEC by it's Southall works, the first Q-Type double decker made its apperance in October 1932. Designed by John Rackman, the Q-Type is remembered as one of the most remarkably advanced bus designs of its era. Only twenty three double deck Q's were built, with the majority being bodied by Metro Cammell at a price tag of £1,225. AHX 63 was the prototype AEC Q and was delivered to Birmingham in 1933 although still owned by AEC and retaining the AEC bullseye. It worked as a demonstrator until 1934 and was not puchased by Birmingham until 1935.

This special set has been produced to mark the 50th Anniversary of Corgi.Each model represents a vehicle from each of the three key locations that the Corgi Company has been based.Northampton, westwards to Swansea and finally its current location in Leicester.

A leader in bus design the BMMO reached its pinnacle when it introduced the CM5T coach in 1959. The CM5T was especially designed to provide the nation's first motorway express coach service ( Birmingham to London).

The D9 was unveiled in 1958.The 30ft body seated 72 and was of an advanced design , as were many of its mechanical features.production spanned 1960-66 by which time 345 buses had been built.6299 HA is represented in the livery of the miod-70's, when Midland Red had adopted the corporate paint scheme of the National Bus Company.

Of the 54 Plaxton-bodied Dennis Darts in the Trent Barton fleet, six are branded in Villager livery to work on the V1, V2 and V3 routes between Derby and Burton-upon-Trent. They are based at the company's Meadow Road depot in Derby. The brand took its name from the villages served along the way, such as Findern, Willington, Repton, Etwall, Hilton, Tutbury and Stretton. It is very popular within these local communities who dubbed it The Sheep Bus after its original livery. The unofficial soubriquet stuck so well that Trent Barton insisted on retaining the sheep imagery as a touch of humour when the new brand identity was commissioned from Ray Stenning this year. There are even sheep transfers on the ticket machines! The Villager Darts have been given a major makeover inside and out, including a change of interior seating layout to give more generous 2+1 seating in the front section, rather than four seats across the bus.
