Two excellent models, one of the Bae Sea Harrier Frs1 (SHAR) and the other of the Harrier GR3 combined with a resin model of HMS Hermes 'Ski Jump' that enabled the Harrier to take off with a much increased weapon or fuel payload. A limited edition model that provides an interesting between the two types of Harrier. The Sea Harrier proved an excellent interceptor in the Falklands campaign, decimating attacking Argentinain aircraft without loss in air combat. The GR3 provided the South atlantic task force with ground attack capability.

The concept of the Harrier was to allow deployment away from established airfields vunerable to attack. Instead it was to be operated from short, rough strips of ground and hidden in camouflaged 'hides' from which it would attack the enemy's approaching armoured formations. These qualities came in to their own during the Falklands War.with RAF Harriers deployed to the Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Hermes as part of the task force sent to recapture the Falklands Islands. The Harrier GR3 performed sorties from the aircraft carrier and later from basic landing strips on the islands, often in conditions that would have grounded conventional aircraft
