Corgi 1/72 RAF Gloster Meteor F.Mk8 North Weald 1954 (AA35010)

A distinctive model of the Gloster Meteor jet fighter in its heyday, operating as part of 111 Squadron,�RAF North Weald in 1954. May be displayed �with the undercarraige up or down. Wingspan is�160mm.

Following its activities during WW2, no.111 Squadron disbanded in December 1947. On the 2nd December 1953 No.111 Sqn was reformed in its own right as a fighter unit equipped with Meteor F MK8'S at North Weald, Essex, Hunters replaced the Meteors in June 1955 and during this period it provided the RAF's most famous aerobatic team The Black Arrows. In 1958 the squadron set a record which still stands of performing a formation loop with 22 aircraft
