Corgi 1/72 EE Lightning Tigers (AA32301)
English Electric Lightning F. Mk.1A. - " The Tigers Aerobatic Team ". The E. E. Lightning was Britain's first supersonic all-weather interceptor fighter. No.74 squadron was the first squadron to receive the type when it entered service in the summer of 1960 at Coltishall in Norfolk. Squadron Leader J. F. G. Howe formed a quartet of Lightnings to participate at Farnborough Air Show in Sept.1960. In 1962 the aircraft were painted with black fins and spines and led by Sqd. Ldr. P. G. Botherhill for their final season including the Farnborough Air Show where they gave a co-ordinated display with the " Blue Diamonds " aerobatic team of Hunters.
