Corgi 1/72 Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer S. Mk2B 12 Sqdn RAF Gulf War Bahrain 1991 (AA34104)
In 1991 No.12 Squadron and its Buccaneers went to war in support of coalition forces. Painted desert pink, the aircraft carried distinctive nose art and the new model from Corgi depicts XX885 Hello Sailor/Caroline, which is now preserved.

XX885 was operated by 12 Squadron from RAF Lossiemouth and was one of twelve Buccaneers deployed to Bahrain in 1991.Tasked to provide laser guidance to Tornado missions the Buccaneer pilots were to use the superior range of their aircraft to carry out bombing missions after the Tornados had left. After 216 sorties and 48 bombs dropped, 12 Squadron returned safely to Lossiemouth. Repainted grey XX885 retired in 1993 and was saved from the scrapyard by the Old Flying Machine Company who have it stored at Scampton,Lincs.
