Designed to a US Army requirement but destined to become the worlds premier heavylift helicopter the Chinook was to make its first flight in 1961 and is still in service today after various updates.
Corgi have modelled a 47C, a machine able to lift 25,000lb, in the livery of the 180th Aviation Company US Army at Schwabisch-Hall in Germany 1975.
