It is mounted on a base representing the Ruhr Valley Dam and features authentic sounds including anti-aircraft guns and bomb blasts, search light and bomb blast flashes, concealed on/off switch, plays dambusters theme, best viewed in a darkened room, model wingspan 432mm
In 1943 the most publicised bombing raid of the entire war took place, identified as a key target in wining the war, the great dams, which supplied the hydroelectric power to the heart of Germany and based in the Ruhr valley.A sqaudron was formed under Guy Gibson to attack the dams this squadron became the legendary ' Dam Busters'
