Preddy's last assigned aircraft was this P-51D, flown after he returned from R&R to take command of 328th Fighter Squadron. It carries the squadrons standard red rudder and canopy rail name tag. A stylised barbers pole was painted on the right hand side of the cowl reflecting the part time job of his crew chief. Preddy was the top scoring P-51D pilot of the war he was shot down on Christmas Day in 1944.
