Supermarine Spitfire MKVB Trop ER220/QJ-R Flg. Off. Neville Duke 92 Sqn Waddi Surri Libya. This is the machine flown by Duke in the desert during WW2 and he was to leave the RAF in 1948 to become chief test pilot for Hawker where he was to set a new world speed record in the Hawker Hunter in 1953
Flown by Flt. Officer Neville 'DUKE' of 92 Squadron this aircraft recorded just two kills. ER220 was shot down as part of 601 Squadron.
