The model, of a surviving vehicle, represents one of the many Bedford QL vehicles used in the movement of troops and stores on all the British D Day beach landings. The '49' marking denotes 49 Field Park Unit, which worked in support of 48, 50 and 51 Field Units. These were engaged at the eastern extremity of Sword Beach. The insignia represents the 3rd Infantry Division. After the war this vehicle saw service in Cyprus before being restored in it's D-Day markings.
