D-Day Surrender Set #2 - Vierville, Normandy, German - Army SdKfz 7 Quad Flak Gun, two surrendering German figures, one GI figure and diorama base
Combine this with set #1 - US61001 - to create part of the village of Vierville, Normandy
It was important for the German 352nd Infantry Division to hold Vierville and the draw that lead up to it from the beaches. Once through the bluffs, the U.S. forces could begin to fan out and flank German positions along the beaches. After intense Allied air and sea bombardment, the unprotected German units behind the beachheads were ready to surrender.
