The contrasting dark blue and cream colours of Barrow in Furness Corporation look splendid on our MkI long Leyland National. Registered NEO 831R, fleet number 13 operates route 3 to Harrel Lane via Abbey Road and carries adverts for a local UPVC manufacturer.

This Bristol VRIII depicts fleet number 962, registered WJM 822T working route 34 to Camberley, and carries side adverts for Morlands Beer.

The second release of the Bristol RELH in Crosville livery captures fleet number CRG 106 in the traditional black and cream coaching livery. Registration number AFM 106G working the Motorway Express route X2 Liverpool to London.

In the rich maroon of Crosville's railway fleet, number 359, registered FM 5887 displays destination boards in the upper and lower window, in service to Heswell and Pensby.

The name East Lancashire Coachbuilders was first registered in 1934 when the firm manufactured bodies for vans, lorries and small coaches.St.Helens Corporation commenced motor bus operationin 1932.In 1959 , a solitary front entrance 30ft long double decker numbered K199 was purchased.It was an AEC Regent V with East Lancs body.The main problem with it was that the fuel tank was of insufficient capacity to enable it to operate all day without refuelling and it remained as the only 30ft double decker on the fleet.

The name East Lancashire Coachbuilders was first registered in October 1934 when the firm manufactured bodies for vans, lorries and small coaches. In May 1938 Alfred Alcock and George Danson moved from Massey Brothers to become directors of the Company. They brought their expertise in the building of larger buses, particularly double deckers. Metal framing was introduced from these early days and the firm became known as a major supplier to the municiple sector of the market. Since the decline of this market, the customer base has widened to embrace all types of operator including major groups, both at home and abroad. Accrington Corporation commenced motor bus operation in 1928. The operator became known for its distinctive dark blue and red livery. In the postwar period Guy and Leyland chassis together with bodies by East Lancs predominated. The operator remained faithful to front engined chassis, taking a final batch of 4 in 1967, these being their first with front entrances.

Black Prince was formed in 1968 taking the Company name from the statue in Leeds City Square, and originally worked contracts, private hire and Blackpool express service.A new livery of red and yellow was adopted on deregulation in 1986 for a growing fleet operating routes in competition on the Leeds-Morley corridor

Arriva Midlands fleet is to be supplemented during the Summer and Autumn of 2006 by 54 new low floor buses to provide a superior journey experience. Enhanced comfort, eye pleasing decor and quieter journey are all part of the package. As well as advanced eviromentally friendly fuel systems, the new buses will be fitted with security cameras and computerised journey trackers. Fourteen of the new buses will be Volvo B7TL double deckers with Wright's bodywork as depicted in this outstanding model.

T.R.T.B. No2 entered service on the 1st June 1950 and was one of a batch of 7 new trollybuses.It had a Sunbeam F4 chassis , no 50633, with BTH electrical control equipment and a BTH 209 90hp motor.When new it carried a double deck body built by ELC at their Bridlington factory. Model length 108mm.

Ernest Parish began operations in 1921.His smart Felix Motors buses ran from Doncaster to Armthorpe and to Moorends.With very few exceptions they were purchased new and were invariably turned out in immaculate condition  

Three of the Dennis Tridents in the Blackpool Transport Metro Coastlines fleet have been finished in this stylish black and yellow 'generic' livery.Whilst each of the lines have their own specific colour a small percentage of the fleet carry the generic livery enabling them to 'hop' between lines when engineering require the other buses for service and maintainance. From the Company's formation until 1922 the Ribble fleet consisted of an odd assortment of vehicles from other operators and the military.The long association with Leyland started in 1922 with the acquistion of SG7 followed by SG9 and SG11 models

In the late 70's and early 80's G.M.T. took 220 Metrobuses and a further batch with Northern Counties bodywork.Ten of these vehicles were sold at de-regulation on 26th October 1986 to London Transport.After running in Londonfor 12 years and eventually ending with Arriva The Shires.

Durham City Coaches was started in 1983 by Harry Lightfoot and his son Michael with one secondhand Volvo coach. Since that time Durham City Coaches have continued to expand and the current fleet stands at approx 14 vehicles consisting of Volvos and Bovas.

Built by AEC by it's Southall works, the first Q-Type double decker made its apperance in October 1932. Designed by John Rackman, the Q-Type is remembered as one of the most remarkably advanced bus designs of its era. Only twenty three double deck Q's were built, with the majority being bodied by Metro Cammell at a price tag of £1,225. AHX 63 was the prototype AEC Q and was delivered to Birmingham in 1933 although still owned by AEC and retaining the AEC bullseye. It worked as a demonstrator until 1934 and was not puchased by Birmingham until 1935.

Whitelaws Coaches, a family run bus and coach company, was founded by George Whitelaw in 1973 with his wife Sandra by his side. Since the business was established it has grown from a two taxi, one minibus operation to a fleet of 14 coaches and 24 buses

This two coach centenary set consists of a Leyland Leopard PSU4/RT of 1966 vintage with a Plaxton Panorama body painted in the companys Guildford Blue and Arundel Grey livery of the time. While the Van Hool T9, 42 seater is on a DAF SB 4000 chassis with the dark green shading through white livery, and is one of six within the fleet of John Fishwick & Sons.

Five brand new Jubilee buseswere delivered to Stagecoach Manchester to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth in 2002. These buses carry a special purple and gold adaptation of the increasingly familiar 'new' red, orange and blue livery.During the time of the Commonwealth Games these buses operated a special service between Piccadily and the City of Manchester stadium.Altogether 30 new, fully accessible buses, were placed onto the Stadium Shuttle service during the Commonwealth Games. The service ran at 1 minute intervals during peak times.

On 1st April 1933 the towns of Burnley, Colne and Nelson amalgamated their tram and bus services. The tram services were replaced wholly by buses by 1935 and the last of these buses, Leyland TD4s, were replaced in 1959 by two Leyland PD3/6 buses Nos. 232/3. These massive 73 seat buses, nicknamed Big Berthas by staff, were the first front entrance double deckers. They were used initially on the X38 Limited Stop between Burnley and Colne. A further four examples 234-7 were purchased in 1961. When withdrawn in 1974 the six buses were purchased by Lancaster City Council for many years of further use.

The RTW was London Transport's first 8-foot wide motor bus- six inches wider than its predecessors 500 were built by Leyland Motors Ltd between 1948 and 1950

This is one of 66 Optare 'Solo' 34-seat single decks operated by the independent trent barton company, known for its high profile branding and one of the most modern major bus firms in th UK. Model length 110mm.

Samuel Ledguard's blue buses operated between Bradford, Otley, Harrogate and Leeds. Ledguard's empire, based at the Nelson Hotel, where he was the publican and brewer, started with haulage in 1906 and grew to include outside catering and a quarry business. He ran his first bus in 1912 and ran a charabanc with an interchangeable body (U1949) to Blackpool and Scarborough in 1913. After the war his business grew with acqusition of other companies, retained as legally seperate subsidaries in Company livery. Samuel died in 1952 and the company continued for a further 15 years under the control of the executors, finally being sold in October 1967.

Public transport started in Sunderland in 1879 with horse tramways before the Corporation electrified the system in 1900. Buses were first bought in 1929 and they completetly replaced the trams in 1954 when a new livery of Brunswick Green and Cream livery replaced the old red and cream. The Transport Department was taken into Tyne & Wear Passenger Transport Executive in 1973. Thirty double deck buses were delivered in 1958 of which No.232 was one of six Guy Arab IV models with Gardner 5LW engines and bodies by Roe of Leeds. These worked from Fulwell garage.

The model represents one of the three double decker buses purchased by Cumbria County Council from East Lancs using Rural Bus Challenge. The buses operate on the prestigious hourly X35 service between Barrow-in-Furness and Kendal via Grange-over-Sands.

Of the 54 Plaxton-bodied Dennis Darts in the Trent Barton fleet, six are branded in Villager livery to work on the V1, V2 and V3 routes between Derby and Burton-upon-Trent. They are based at the company's Meadow Road depot in Derby. The brand took its name from the villages served along the way, such as Findern, Willington, Repton, Etwall, Hilton, Tutbury and Stretton. It is very popular within these local communities who dubbed it The Sheep Bus after its original livery. The unofficial soubriquet stuck so well that Trent Barton insisted on retaining the sheep imagery as a touch of humour when the new brand identity was commissioned from Ray Stenning this year. There are even sheep transfers on the ticket machines! The Villager Darts have been given a major makeover inside and out, including a change of interior seating layout to give more generous 2+1 seating in the front section, rather than four seats across the bus.

Bartons Transport is Irelands Premier Coach Hire Company. The present managing director, Pat Barton established the company in 1964. Today, together with the help of his Feargal Barton, the bussiness has become renowned for providing the very best in luxury coach travel, whilst offering the latest in safety and comfort. All of the coaches are routinely inspected and maintained by their own team of skilled technicians at their purpose built premises in Maynooth, Co. Kildare. The company has experience of hadling all hires from simple single transfers to large intergrated transport movements for conference involving many vehicles.

Rosendale Transport were one of the first operators to introduce low foor buses in 1996 and since then all new bus purchases have been of the modern generation of low floor accessible vehicles, along with a few carefully seconhand purchases. In 2003 a fleet of seven Volvo B7RLE's with Wrightbus Eclipse bodywork were added to the fleet along with an eighth bus, a Volvo demonstrator which is modelled here. These are operated in the companys Easyride livery used for low floor buses, with additional route branding for the companys Mainline 464 service operating through the heart of Rossendale Valley between Accrington and Rochdale.
