Dragon Wings 1/72 US Navy F-14D Super Tomcat NAWS China Lake with Runway Base & 3 Groundcrew Figures (50301)
Until recently, VX-9 “Vampires”, a U.S. Navy Air Test & Evaluation Squadron, operated 11 F-14 Tomcats. However, after the retirement of the Tomcat throughout the Navy, the unit was left with 28 aircraft at its base Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in California’s Mojave Desert. This squadron was established in 1951 and it develops and evaluates operations and tactics. Previously the squadron operated four F-14D Tomcats and one of these is commemorated in a Warbirds replica from Dragon. Included with replica is a runway base and set of three groundcrew figures
