Special Price One of the 90th bomb group aircraft this B24D sports a skull and crossbones to acknowledge their nickname the Jolly Rogers. Painted standard olive drab the aircraft were modified to undertake photo reconnaissance missions as well as bombing missions.
Coming off the production line in July 1942 and delivered on the 2nd August this aircraft became one of the earliest B24D's to go to war with the 90th BG.On the 7th Nov.1944 and with Capt.J.J Ryan at the controls, Sky Witch set forth to search for an expected Japanese fleet in Brunei Bay. Fighting a continuous battle with at least nine Zero aircraft and credited with downing four Ryan managed to fly the aircraft a thousand miles back to friendly territory with photos and intelligence, but the battle had damaged the plane beyond repair and Sky Witch was never to fly again.
