This Junkers JU-87B-2 flew with probably the best known of all the Stuka units, 4/StG2 Immelmannand appeared like this in 1941 at the opening of the African Campaign, after the capture of Crete.In those early months in the desert the Bf109 escorted Stuka was a formidable weapon.Two main types of mission were carried out by the Stukas during this period in early 1941 - against the ememy's ground forces and against British coastal shipping.
